Hanoi, the economic, political, and cultural hub of Vietnam, offers visitors a chance to explore its rich historical and spiritual heritage. Additionally, Hanoi serves as a gateway for trips to other renowned destinations in northern Vietnam, such as Sapa, Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba Island, and the mountainous provinces of the Northeast and Northwest.


Detailed Itinerary

08:00–08:30
Pick-up from your hotel in the Old Quarter or the Hanoi Opera House to begin your journey exploring the capital.

Morning Activities:

  1. Tran Quoc Pagoda – West Lake:
    • Located on an island on the eastern side of West Lake (Tay Ho District), Tran Quoc Pagoda is nearly 1,500 years old and features a sacred Bodhi tree originating from India.
    • Known as the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, it was a significant Buddhist center during the Ly and Tran dynasties. The pagoda’s architecture harmoniously blends antiquity and elegance, set amidst the serene West Lake.
  2. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex:
    • Visit the final resting place of Vietnam’s great leader and explore the stilt house where he lived and worked from 1954 until his passing.
    • Learn about Ho Chi Minh’s simple yet impactful life.
    • You will also visit the One Pillar Pagoda, a unique structure and one of the four symbols of Hanoi.
    • Note: On Mondays and Fridays, the Mausoleum is closed for maintenance, and only the surrounding areas, stilt house, fish pond, and One Pillar Pagoda can be visited.

Lunch Break:

  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the Old Quarter.
  • Afterward, take a short walk around to learn about the famous 36 streets of Hanoi.

Afternoon Activities:

  1. Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature):
    • Considered Vietnam’s first university, this ancient structure was established in October 1073.
    • Built to honor Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, and Chu Van An, a celebrated principal of Quoc Tu Giam, the site symbolizes Vietnam’s traditional educational values.
  2. Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple:
    • Stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, a peaceful area surrounded by Vietnamese and French colonial architecture.
    • Visit Ngoc Son Temple, dedicated to Saint Van Xuong and General Tran Hung Dao, and walk across The Huc Bridge, a striking red wooden structure.
  3. Optional Experiences:
    • Rent a cyclo or electric car to explore the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake.
    • Purchase tickets to enjoy a traditional water puppet show.

The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel. Alternatively, you may choose to be dropped off at the Shark’s Jaw area to continue exploring on your own. Please note: Additional costs for these activities will be covered individually.
